After seeing John Zorn in Summer 2019, I was playing a lot of his Masada pieces. Having played his classic piece Cobra I was reminded of the genre card and why haven't I tried to work on a piece not from the 20/21 century. Why not Bach?! This project was great for 'shedding my reading chops but also just appreciating how much material was packed into this prelude. For about six weeks, each Saturday morning I worked on a system and concatenated the material from the previous weeks. While I recorded a more "traditional" version, this "jazz-inspired" meditation captures my interests and playing at the time. Yes, the rhythm is completely warped and there are a handful of wrong notes, but I'm still happy to share this record.
